Overview
The University's Data Warehouse makes Penn's institutional data available to decision makers for query, analysis, and reporting. The Warehouse stores selected data from Penn's business systems, such as BEN Financials, PennERA, Pennant/SRS, and many others. In addition, Schools and Centers may elect to store their administrative data in the Warehouse for use by their constituents. The data is filtered, made consistent, and aggregated in various ways. Access to the Warehouse does not require formal programming skills; desktop tools such as BusinessObjects support analysis and reporting for authorized University users.
Benefits

- Ad hoc query and analysis
- Longitudinal studies (employees, courses, finances)
- Day-to-day departmental management and strategic analysis by School/Center administrative personnel
- Principal Investigators monitoring their grants and protocols
- Other applications (PennPortal/U@Penn, Penn Community, CoursesInTouch)
