Significant Issues with iOS 10 Update

Substantial reports online, corroborated by many constituents across the University, have shown that the over the air (OTA) update for iOS 10 (actually 10.0.1) is failing and sending many iOS devices into recovery mode. Updates via iTunes seem to be safe, at this time, and if an OTA update has already put a device into Recovery Mode, one can restore and update via iTunes. As always, be certain the device is backed up before attempting the update. Information Systems & Computing (ISC) highly recommends that users who intend on updating to iOS 10 within the next few days do so via iTunes.

General information on the iOS 10 update is available here:

ISC continues to strongly recommend that all University users considering an upgrade to iOS 10 adopt a "wait and see" approach, and continue to use earlier versions of iOS for at least a few days.

ISC will send an update on iOS 10’s status at the University on September 15th. Please feel free to reach out to ISC Client Care at 215-898-1000 with any questions or concerns.
