ISC has finalized contract negotiations with Microsoft to define the licenses that we will apply to all faculty/staff, student, and resource accounts. Licenses will need to be reassigned to all accounts and we plan to do this in three phases.
Phase 1 will begin on Wednesday, October 5 at 8:00am. During this phase, ISC will switch the license used by all ProPlus users that do not have mailboxes. These users currently have the “Office 365 Education Plus for Students” license and will be changed to “Office 365 ProPlus for Students” license.
Affected users will experience no disruption to ProPlus or Office (both the online and client-installed versions) or to OneDrive access. Following the change, these users will only have access to the following applications: the Office ProPlus download, Office Online and OneDrive for Business. This change will remove the following applications: Sway, Yammer, Forms, and Planner.
We anticipate that Phase 1 will take hours to overnight to complete as there are 52,883 users impacted. Again, this change will not impact users or resource accounts who have a mailbox on O365.
