The January 2017 update (revision 50) to the four-year University-wide technology roadmap is available to University constituents as a PDF document on Penn+Box at:
https://upenn.box.com/v/techroadmaps
The primary goal of this technology roadmap is to help Penn’s technology professionals make contextual decisions within the overall University technology environment. It is intended for internal use—please do not forward it to non-Penn individuals.
This fifth update to the roadmap that was initially released over a year ago has 53 of the 166 existing technologies modified in some way. Five technologies have been added—AirPennNet-Device , AirPennNet-Help, eduroam, Lynda.com, and Slack. Also, Listserv has been separated into Classlists and PennNet Mailing Lists and five technologies have been removed (Internet Explorer 9, Java 1.7, OS X 10.7.x, PennCloud, Windows Server 2003). All modified technologies are delineated by an orange box next to their name and described in the change logs on the final pages of the roadmap.
This roadmap represents a best current estimate of the status of these technologies. It will often revise over time and will be completely re-evaluated every quarter. My thanks go to the many individuals across the University (approximately 30) who have assisted in compiling this sixth release of the roadmap.
