Lab Rental Service Details

ISC's training lab is available for workshops and features high-performance Dell Optiplex workstations with fast Internet connectivity and on-site technical support. The lab is available for both weekday and weekends to members of the Penn community, private companies, and nonprofit agencies.

Easy Setup and Configuration

Lab rental fees include setup and configuration. When reserving your lab, we'll ask for a technical contact. Our staff will coordinate setup and configuration details with your technical contact so that the lab is ready for your use when you arrive.

Lab Location & Directions


Traveling by Car

Use Mapquest to get point-to-point directions online. Penn's campus is close to Interstate 76, 676, 95, and the bridges connecting New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

From Montgomery County VIA I-76 Eastbound / Ben Franklin Bridge or I-95, VIA I-676 Westbound

  1. Exit at 30th Street Station.
  2. At the end of the ramp, turn right. Road curves around to the left.
  3. At Market Street, turn right.
  4. At 38th Street, turn left.
  5. At Chestnut Street, left.
  6. We're at the corner of 37th and Chestnut Street.

From Walt Whitman Bridge, VIA I-76 Westbound

  1. Exit at South Street.
  2. At the end of the ramp, turn left.
  3. At 33rd Street, turn right.
  4. At Walnut Street, turn left.
  5. At 37th Street, turn right.
  6. We're at the corner of 37th and Chestnut Street.

In addition to the parking meters on 37th St. and on Chestnut St., there are several parking lots available for use by the general public:

  • 36th Street just north of Chestnut Street
  • 38th Street just north of Walnut Street

Pricing and hours for each lot varies. Please be sure to check before entering.

Public Transportation

Via Septa Rail, Trolley, Bus, & Amtrak.

Several SEPTA bus routes and trolleys serve the University of Pennsylvania campus. All Septa Regional Rail lines, Septa Market-Frankford (Blue) Line, Amtrak Northeast Corridor Trains and New Jersey Transit Atlantic City Rail Line serve Philadelphia's 30th Street Train Station. Our offices are easily accessible from 30th Street Station and Center City Philadelphia.

From 30th Street Station, Center City, or West Philadelphia    After Deboarding
#10 Trolley to 36th & Market Streets Walk 1/2 block south on 36th Street to Chestnut Street. Walk 1/2 block west on Chestnut to Sansom Place West.
# 11, 13, 34 or 36 Trolley to 36th & Sansom Streets Walk 1/2 block north on 36th Street to Chestnut Street. Walk 1/2 block west on Chestnut Street to Sansom Place West.
Route 21 Bus going westbound to 36th &Walnut Streets Walk 1 block north on 36th Street to Chestnut Street. Walk 1/2 block west on Chestnut Street to Sansom Place West.
Route 21 Bus going Eastbound to 36th & Chestnut Streets Walk 1/2 block west on Chestnut Street to Sansom Place West.
From North or South Philadelphia After Deboarding
Broad Street (Orange) Line to City Hall Take stairway six and use free transfer to 10, 11, 13, 34, 36 Trolley. See above.
From Northeast or West Philadelphia, or 69th Street After Deboarding
Market-Frankford (Blue) Line to 34th Street Walk 1 block south on 34th Street to Chestnut Street.

Walk 2 1/2 blocks west on Chestnut Street to Sansom Place West.
Lab Specifications

The training lab features 13 student workstations and an instructor station - all connected to Penn's high-speed Internet. Students can see the instructor's example on the projection screen at the front of the room. The lab also has a telephone, whiteboard, and networked printer. Coffee and water service are provided free of charge.

Lab Pricing

The lab is available for weekday and weekend rentals. Prices are based on the day and time of use. For rental fees, please visit Lab Rentals - Rates for more information.

Lab Rental Reservations, Cancellations, and Payment Policies
Reservations & Cancellations Payment Rental Responsibility & Security
  • Rental reservations may be changed or cancelled within 30 calendar days at no penalty.
     
  • Rental reservations may be changed or cancelled between 14 and 29 calendar days for an additional fee of 20% of the total rental charges.
     
  • Daily rentals will be charged at 100% for cancellations with less than 14 calendar days notice. Weekly and long term rentals will be charged up to 100% of rental period, or ten days rent, whichever is less, for cancellations with less than 14 days notice.
     
  • Penn departmental reservations will be considered confirmed upon receipt of Penn budget code.
     
  • All other reservations will be considered confirmed upon receipt of payment in full.
  • Penn departmental clients must pay with a Penn budget code.                     
  • Non-Penn clients, please make check or money order payable to Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, we cannot take credit or debit cards for deposits or final payments.
     
  • Prices do not include Pennsylvania or Philadelphia sales tax. Non-tax exempt clients will be charged 7% sales tax on the entire cost of any lab rentals.
  • IT Learning Solutions lab is housed in a secure building on the University of Pennsylvania campus. All clients and attendees must bring one form of government-issued photo identification for admittance to the building.
     
  • Client agrees to be responsible for use of computers by client's instructors, affiliates, and attendees and holds the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, its employees, faculty, students and affiliates harmless for any direct or consequential liability incurred in the use of the IT Learning Solutions lab.
     
  • IT Learning Solutions reserves the right to cancel an entire reservation when partial cancellations or schedule changes are requested. If IT Learning Solutions cancels an entire reservation, a full refund will be paid. IT Learning Solutions will not be liable for any other charges or damages in the event of such a cancellation.
Lab Rental Licensing Agreement


End User Licensing Agreement & Other Terms of Use Applicable to Software

Clients may provide any software not included as part of the standard lab configuration, however we require that any software installed on IT Learning Solutions lab computers must be done in full compliance with the End User License Agreement (EULA) or other Terms of Use applicable to the software. IT Learning Solutions may require clients to furnish proof of EULA or Terms of Use compliance before lab configuration. IT Learning Solutions reserves the right to refuse to install any software for any reason including, but not limited to, failure to furnish proof of license compliance or potential risk to computers or network.
